Two Oceans Marathon 2015 – Spend Easter in Cape Town and burn off those Easter Eggs with a 56km run!

If running a marathon is on your bucket list, why not take part in “the world’s most beautiful marathon” next April, and join some 26,000 participants from across the globe in the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon.

Two Oceans Marathon

Taking part in the beautiful city of Cape Town each year, the Two Oceans Marathon includes two main events, the Ultra Marathon at 56km and the Half Marathon at 21.1km, and a variety of different fun runs, so the whole family can take part, and you could even extend your stay in South Africa with a safari!

The first Two Oceans Marathon took place way back in 1970, when just 26 runners turned up to face what was then, an unknown challenge.  Fast forward some 44 years, and the Two Oceans Marathon has become a national institution, with around 26,000 local and international athletes taking part in the ultra or half marathon events.

The date for the Two Oceans Marathon 2015 has been confirmed as Saturday 4th April, and registration is due to open later this year.  There is an extra treat in store for international travellers, so make sure you arrive in Cape Town early and take part in the International Friendship run on Good Friday.  A 5km run/walk through Cape Town’s most famous landmarks including the Sea Point Promenade and the Green Point Stadium, this friendship run is a great way to meet other runners and learn a bit about South Africa’s Mother City in the process!

Easter may sound like a million years away, but in fact, it is just 222 days until the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, so it’s time to dust off your trainers!
